Queensland,
where
the work
placement
is a
compulsory
requirement
of a
course
in which
the
student
is
enrolled.
A
Service
Fee of
$800.-
applies.
This is
usually
paid by
the
Danish
institution
in which
the
student
is
enrolled.
There
are a
number
of steps
you need
to go
through
to come
to
Australia
for work
placement,
on an
Occupational
Trainee
Visa.
Step 1.
You
Forward
your
details
- IN

the Work
Experience
Form and
your CV
and
return
them to
us.
You need

IAE's
Work
Experience
Placements
in
Queensland
Form.
This
form
contains
information
we
need
to
send
to
the
Department
of
Immigration
in
order
to
get
your
Occupational
Trainee
Training
Program
approved
by
the
office
in
Brisbane.
If
you
will
be
accompanied
by
any
family
members,
be
sure
to
inform
IAE
of
their
names
and
dates
of
birth.
b) A
Detailed
CV
or
Resume.
You
should
ensure
that
you
give
as
much
detail
as
possible
about
what
you
are
seeking
from
the
placement.
This
CV
will
be
sent
to
prospective
employers,
so
please
keep
that
in
mind
when
you
write
it.
If
you
are
not
confident
with
your
English,
get
someone
to
check
the
spelling
and
grammar.
You
want
to
present
yourself
in
the
best
possible
light.
Step 2.
IAE
finds a
Suitable
Placement
IAE
sends
you CV
to a
number
of
prospective
"employers"/programs
to see
if they
will
accept
you.
When IAE
has a
response,
we
contact
you to
let you
know
more
about
the
programs
and your
options.
IAE may
be able
to put
you in
contact
with
Danish
students
who have
been in
the
placement
before
you so
that you
can
contact
them for
further
details.
Step 3.
You
Accept a
Placement
You then
decide
which
placement
offered
you
prefer,
and
inform
IAE of
your
decision.
This may
take a
number
of
Emails
back and
forth as
you
clarify
issues.
Step 4.
IAE
Finalises
Paperwork
for
Approval
of
Training
Program
IAE
prepares
the
required
forms
and
letters
and has
the
employers
sign
them
off. IAE
collects
the
supporting
documentation
required
by the
Department
of
Immigration
and
lodges
everything
with the
Form 913
-
Application
for
Occupational
Trainee
Visa
with the
Immigration
Department
in
Brisbane
Step 5.
Approval
of
Training
Program
IAE
informs
you when
the
training
program
has been
approved,
and
faxes
you a
copy of
the
approval
letter
with
your
program's
approval
number.
You need
this
number
and
letter
when you
apply
for the
Occupational
Trainee
Visa.
(Don't
send
anything
to the
Embassy
before
you have
this
number.)
Step 6 -
IAE Send
You an
Orientation
Pack
IAE will
send an
orientation
pack
with you
more
details
on your
placement,
useful
information
on
living
in
Brisbane,
and
hints
for
enjoying
your
work
placement;
as well
as the
Letters
of
Invitation
and
original
Approval
Letter
which
you need
to apply
for your
visa.
Step 7.
You
Apply
for the
Occupational
Trainee
Visa
You
contact
the
Australian
Embassy
asking
them for
the
forms
required
to allow
you to
apply
for an
Occupational
Trainee
Visa.
You
follow
their
instructions,
and
complete
your
criminal
check,
medical
examination
etc; and
collect
any
documentation
they
require,
including
the
approval
letter
IAE has
faxed
you,
showing
your
program
approval
number.
Ensure
your
application
is
complete
and send
it to
the
Australian
Embassy,
with the
visa
application
fee.
Step 8.
You
Inform
IAE of
Visa
Approval
and if
You
Require
On-Arrival
Services
Please
let IAE
know
when
your
visa is
approved.
IAE
offers
international
students
airport
reception
and
accommodation
placement
services.
An
additional
service
fee
applies.
You
should
contact
IAE if
you
would
like to
pay the
additional
fee and
avail
yourself
of these
services.
Step 9.
You
Arrive
in
Brisbane
and Make
Contact
With IAE
and Your
Workplace
When you
arrive,
please
ensure
that you
contact
IAE and
your
workplace
to
inform
them of
when you
will
take up
your
placement.
Step 10.
During
Your
Placement
- Keep
in Touch
With IAE
IAE is
your
back-up
in
Brisbane.
If you
have
problems
in your
placement
which
you
cannot
solve
with
them
directly,
please
do not
hesitate
to
contact
us. If
everything
breaks
down, we
can find
you
another
